A rich dark purple iris of the variety 'Black Swan' is in sharp focus against the expressive brush marks and semi-abstract shapes of a cottage garden border. The title also gives a nod to the film of the same title, looking at the impossibility of chasing artistic perfection and how that perfectionism can become destructive if we're not careful. The freedom of the background balances the sharp focus of the flower.
