LAURA BEARDSELL-MOORE - PAINTER

Inspired by life in the heart of rural Suffolk, my oil paintings explore the rhythms of the seasons and the passing of time. From cottage garden flowers and vegetable patches to birds, pets, and the people who share these spaces.

I’m particularly drawn to how memory shapes our experience of the world – fluid, fallible, and more like a creative act than a fixed record. Using classical oil painting techniques with a contemporary twist, my flower paintings capture fleeting moments in nature, preserving their beauty in a timeless way.

I studied Fine Art and Art History at Winchester School of Art, followed by a Master’s in Art Criticism, Theory, and Philosophy at the University of Essex, with further training in colour theory and classical techniques. I've taught Fine Art at GCSE, A Level, and BA (Hons) levels and have run workshops in oil painting alongside private tuition. Now, I focus on documenting life in the countryside, capturing fleeting moments in a way that evokes lasting connections.
