Mike is inspired by the wild spaces, wildlife and landscapes of the East Anglian fens, particularly the Wicken Fen Vision Area. His paintings in various different mediums reflects his ecological background and draws on impressionist and modern artistic influences. Mike is currently working on a series of fen wetland scenes and the upper catchment peaty wet woodland landscapes of Fordham Woods. These include memorable observations of birds, dragonflies and flora such as the Yellow Flag Iris and others he has spotted on the way.
