Penny trained in Textile Design at Brighton Polytechnic and the Royal College of Art, specialising in Woven Textiles and has worked as a designer, freelancer and teacher. 

"I use mixed media on canvas, board and paper combining paint, ink and fabric with hand-printed and painted paper collage. I experiment with different materials, tools and techniques to give unpredictable effects and to add layers of texture, pattern and colour to my paintings and collages. My work reflects my love and passion for colour, pattern and texture found in the beauty of flowers, birds and my natural surroundings."
